Plans are under way for Senator Jane Nelson's sole fund raising event of 2012 -- a.k.a. her Annual 40th Birthday Party -- scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the Austin Ranch in Grapevine, Texas.
You can support Senator Nelson and take part in the biggest, best, and longest-running Annual 40th Birthday Party in Texas with a general admission contribution of $25 or more per individual. Or you may serve on the host committee with host levels beginning at $250 and including admission to the event, the host reception at 5:30 p.m., recognition on the program and a keepsake photo with Senator Nelson.
The program begins at 6:30 p.m. and all children in attendance will be invited onstage to lead in the pledge and the national anthem.

How do I RSVP?
You can sign up to attend by calling our office in Grapevine at 817-488-7400 to make your pledge and provide the names of any guests attending with you. Or you may send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to include your name, address, phone number, pledge amount, and the names of your guests. You may also make a secure paypal contribution on our website.
What are the benefits of general admission contributions?
General admission guests are invited to the party from 6 to 8 p.m. and enjoy complimentary beer, wine, and entertainment.
What are the benefits of host-level contributions?
In addition to admission to the party and complimentary food and drink, hosts are admitted to the private host reception and photo line at 5:30 p.m. Each $250 contribution includes 2 admissions to both the reception and the party.
What is the dress?
If you saw the invitations, this year's theme is movie premiere. Guests are encouraged to come "Texas movie star chic," but you will see people in everything from business attire to casual.
What is on the menu?
Carving stations, appetizers, and – of course, -- cake.
What complimentary beverages are available?
Various beer will be provided courtesy of Ben E. Keith. Texas wine will be provided by Fall Creek, Llano Estecado and Messina Hof. There will also be soft drinks and water courtesy of Coca Cola.
Where do I park?
All attendees are invited to take advantage of free valet parking. Upon entrance, parking attendants will direct hosts to the left for access to the host reception. Attendants will direct general admission guests to the right to enter the main party. Self-parking is available next door at the DFW Hilton Lakes Hotel -- which owns the Austin Ranch.
Are kids welcome?
Absolutely. Senator Nelson's grandchildren will be in attendance. All children will be invited to the stage during the program to lead us in the pledge and the national anthem.
Will elected officials be introduced?
Yes. During the program all elected officials or Republican nominees on the November ballot are invited onstage to make a brief introduction.
How do I get there?
Austin Ranch is just minutes away from DFW Airport, with easy access to downtown Dallas and Fort Worth. Hop on the 121 Freeway to Bass Pro Dr., then hang a right onto Highway 26. Turn left onto West Grapevine Mills Rd., just past the Hilton Hotel, then left again onto Anderson Gibson Rd. Pull into 2009 Anderson Gibson Rd., Grapevine, TX 76051. What’s the best route from Denton County?
Either take FM 2499 south, turn right at Grapevine Mills Blvd. and then right on Anderson Gibson Road – or – take Interstate 35E south, then SH 121 west to the Bass Pro Drive exit and keep right at the fork, turn left on E. Grapevine Mills Circle and then left on Anderson Gibson Road.
What’s the best route from Tarrant County?
Take SH 121 north to Grapevine, exit Bass Pro Drive, turn right on SH 26, left on W. Grapevine Mills Road, left on Anderson Gibson.
Do I need an advance ticket?
There are no “tickets” for this event, per se. Those who have RSVP’ed in advance will have their nametags at either the HOST or GUEST check-in areas, depending on the level of contribution. You can also pay at the door and we will print a nametag for you.
What is the check-in process for hosts?
Hosts will want to be sure and arrive by 5:30 p.m. when the host reception begins. Parking attendants will direct you to the proper valet stand. If you are bringing payment to the event, check in at HOST WILL CALL. If you have already paid, check in by your last name.
What is the check-in process for guests?
Guests should valet park at the main entrance. If you have paid in advance, check in by your last name. If you are paying at the door, go to GUEST WILL CALL.

Will there be entertainment?
Yes, the Good Question Band will perform. Dancing is encouraged.
