How can you volunteer to help Team Nelson? Let us count the ways:
1. Lick & Stick. Every year in late August, we need volunteers to help assemble
invitations for Senator Nelson’s annual fund raiser (a.k.a. her Annual 40th Birthday Party).
2. Work at an event. There is a need for volunteers to help
with events, including the Annual 40th Birthday Party, which always occurs the Thursday
prior to Texas-OU weekend. You can take a shift during the day to help with set-up or
apply to work the registration tables.
3. Write a letter. When Senator Nelson makes headlines for her efforts, write a short
letter under 250 words, and send it to your local newspaper.
4. Scrapbook project. When it comes to preserving history, Senator Nelson is a
conservationist. She keeps scrapbooks dating back to her first term on the State Board of
Education. If you would like to create a few pages, contact by the District Office in
Grapevine. We have the items to be archived, along with the necessary supplies.
5. Office internships. Internships are available in our Grapevine and Austin offices
for students seeking legislative or campaign experience. Candidates must submit a cover
letter and resume to Senator Nelson at info@janenelson.org. Please include time slots you
are available to work in the office. Positions are unpaid, but those who successfully
complete an internship receive a letter of recommendation from the Senator.
